Today was the massage. Well, I still am quite sore. :-) But at least I don't have that shooting absolutely miserable pain that just takes my breath away. She felt my back and she was like...ohhhh your back is just a hard mass. Normally muscles are soft and pliable...uhhh not mine. My trapezius and the erector muscles on the left side are totally seized up and the right side is really tense (she said it'sbecause I've been so stiff and sore on the left that it is just naturally affecting the other side). She wasn't able to even work the muscle enough to take the pain away....it is apparently going to be a couple visit deal. So I have another appointment next week.
At the ride on sunday they are apparently going to have massages for a $1 a minute donation. I may try to sneak in and get a short massage on my shoulder. In the meantime, the therapist told me to continue with the heating pad, take warm baths after working out, and soak in the tub with epsom salt.
Meanwhile, my eating is out of control! I just can't seem to stop eating. I do not know what is up with me. That coupled with the fact that I am feeling absolutely lackadaisical about exercise and riding my bike! What is wrong with me???
Hold steady. That's what I try and do when in a little slump. Just focus on maintaining. It sucks when motivation takes a vacation but it's oh so sweet when it comes back!! And it will be back!
ReplyDeleteFrom reading the last few posts you have enough stress to send any of us to food. Are you stressing over the bike run this weekend? Hang in there and cut back on the sugar. It always keeps me wanting to eat.
ReplyDeleteMary Fran, I left the CT comment. I forgot I was signed in under my work blog. JC
ReplyDeleteEveryone hits some sort of a wall or another. You can overcome it!! It just takes time, and I'm sure having your muscles sore and tight don't make it easy on you to do your everyday things. I've been a bit "off" too, due to company and phone, tv and internet issues. I'm kinda finding it hard to get my stride back, too. We can do this if we just stick to it and don't give up completely. Yeah!!! Us!!!!
ReplyDeleteJC is right about the sugar. Easter weekend I ate lots o' chocolate and I was so hungry! It really created a hunger fiend that took several days to get back under control.
ReplyDeleteHopefully your shoulder will be better soon.
I wish I had the answer for you! I'm kinda there myself right now so I don't even know.
ReplyDeleteCome on Mary Fran. Get back in there. I don't want to see you fall off the wagon again. You've come SO darn far. Don't do this to yourself. You're just going to hate yourself for having that lackadaisical mind set and the self sabotage. Take a deep breath then get back in there. You can do it. I know you can. You've been such an inspiration for me. Dig deep and push through this. You can do this.
