Is it wrong of me to gather motivation from the fact that come this winter when the family member is babbling about how much weight they have lost through their surgery that I want to have a smokin' hot body so that I can know in my heart that I did it on my own. (woah...what a terrible run on sentence). Is that too prideful? Hmmm??? Well, even if it is...that is my motivation. I want to be able to sit at the holiday meal table smokin' hot...me with my svelte body and know that I did it on my own....without the risks associated with surgery! And know that I'm healthy! Yeah, that probably makes me a bad person. Oh well....that's me.
Got up this morning and made bagels. Well, I finished the bagels (I had actually made the dough and formed them yesterday...and then per the instructions left them in the fridge overnight). Todd and I had bagels hot from the oven at about 7Am (well, maybe 7:30). I was on the exercise bike by 8AM...and I rode until 10! Whew! I thought that I blew my intake budget of food because I caved in and had peanut butter on my banana...but when I took a closer look I realized that all was well in food budget land.

I know your going to be hot!! And the statistics on people with surgery who go back to not eating healthy etc... not so good. And they gain back or have bad health problems. You are doing it the right way and you'll stick with it :)
ReplyDeleteI think that motivation is right on!! Don't know if you watch Biggest Loser or not but this week Ron (who has had that surgery) ended up in the hospital because of complications from that surgery.
ReplyDeleteYou are doing it the healthy way. And I'm so proud of you. I know you can make it!! And besides you will know how to keep your body healthy and that family memb. won't. They will just eat what they want but smaller amounts. So there.
Sounds like a great plan to me. You deserve to have a smokin hot body and you have worked hard for it. Family member will never know the pride of accomplishment that you and all the rest of us that have done it on our own feel. You go for girl and post some new pictures. That being said, your after picture you have posted looks pretty dog on good to me.
ReplyDeleteYou are not being prideful. You have every right to be proud of what you are accomplishing. We've all heard the many horror stories associated with the surgery. I think the way we are chosing to go about this is the smart, healthy way. You're doin' great and will have that relative gasping at your new, svelte, healthy body. Go get 'em, girl.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing wrong withh the way you feel. You will have done it the healthy way and through the process have learned how to continue to eat healthy. I look at WLS as an easy way out, and so far I do not know of one person that hasn't gained a large portion of the weight back over the next year or two. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteno way :)
ReplyDeletemotivation is where we create it.
I have a LOT of twisted motivation to do well in my world of work which is the same thing (I did it alone! you have sooo many connections type of stuff).
I say seize it and make it work for you.
I take my motivation where I can get it! It changes day to day, moment by moment. Whatever works.
